Appears to be an excellent captain and figurehead for the club, but as a player he often leaves me frustrated.
Even in the championship he would never ‘run’ a game the way you wanted him to. I suspect that’s down to his mobility & physique. Technically an excellent player apart from his floaty corners.

I’m sure history will have him pinned as a West Ham legend.

I've grown to like Noble a lot more over the last few years, he's a great example of a club captain off the pitch as well as on it, I couldn't imagine the club on the playing side without Noble now and he will leave a huge void when he stops playing, even though he's bound to stay at the club. I think it's true that he has become a bit of a mouth piece for the board now with all these cheesey articles in times of choppy waters, but he gets paid 50k a week for his troubles so no doubt happy to go along with it without rocking the boat too much.

Shame about his lack of pace, as I think that's the main reason why he only got so far as a player, just never had the ability to move away from his opponent quickly or carry the ball up the pitch very far.

Perhaps we should keep him at the club to coach all the youngsters on how to throw your own supporters by the throat?

Fuck Noble, he isn't good enough a player and he's Sullivan's rent boy.

I suspect Nobes is a massive part of keeping Declan Rice at WHU. Clearly they have a fantastic connection, and having a captain so passionate about the club you play for is a big draw.
Whenever a new youngster comes into the first team (Ngakia, Johnson, Holland etc) he's the first to congratulate them at the final whistle and gee them up. I don't think you see many captains in the prem that close/influential to the newcomers in their team. Kane, Lascelles, I'm not even sure who Man Utd's captain is atm.
Happy birthday Skipper

Very much a steady Eddie type of player who always gets a 6 or 7 out of 10 in the Sunday papers.
Will likely never see a player of his ilk agin though in regards to his passion and loyalty to the club.
Lacks the athleticism and mobility to be a real top drawer modern midfielder but still adds to the team with his tenacity drive and passing ability.
Would love to of seen him turn out for England and there have been far worse than him who have, he would of embraced the opportunity I’m sure and capped a fine career.

Those who have predicted his demise as a first choice player with glee for the last 6 or 7 years are finally going to get their wish.

He's not Billy Bonds, and the average player is fitter than in Bonds' day. He hasn't got another 9 years in him. Probably not even 9 months.

It is sad.

Tough crowd.

Still, I wish our Captain the very best.
He's maybe not one of West Ham's most talented players of recent years.
But he's still one of our greatest of recent years.

Whatever happens next, I hope he remains at the club in some capacity.

Shame his last proper season has been fucked by C-19.

Bit part next year, retirement or down a division or two the next.

Of course, down a division could see him still turning out for us...

Reminder (not that we need it) that just to stand still we need 2 or 3 new first team players.

Think he has another season as a squad player and leader around the group.
After that if I was in charge of a Championship club looking to get promotion I’d get him in to perform a role like Nolan did for us getting out of that division.
Not sure what his long term plans are but I’d like to see him in some sort of role around the club when he retires on the coaching staff.

Happy birthday as well
Take it easy though , the silly cunts at the PL seem to want us to play again soon

Worst captain since Upton. Shame he's not 43, although it fucking feels like it.
